Agios Nikitas is a beautiful traditional fishing village in the Northwest coast of the island 12 km from the town of Lefkada. Since the coastline is rugged and steep, is the only village at sea level along the west Coast. Its unique beauty leaded the Ministry of Environment to declare the village traditional and ensure by law the maintenance of the characteristic architecture of the buildings. Agios Nikitas consists of the main pedestrian street leading to the sea where you can find the restaurants, bars, mini markets, souvenir shops and smaller alleys where you can enjoy the nature and the views. The village during the high season (July, August) is very busy, we recommend the low season as the best for a fully enjoyment of the nature, sea and relax. The surrounding area is beautiful, with steep hills covered by olive and pine trees leading down to superb white sand beaches. After a stormy day, you can observe the crystal clear water turning into striking patterned shades of dark and light blue. Surrounded of the most beautiful beaches of the island, Agios Nikitas is the most popular destination of all visitors of the island. Pefkoulia, easily reached among the main road to Lefkada town, the cosmopolitan Kathisma and the superb Milos Beach, named after the ruined mill on top of the hill overlooking the beach, reached by following the path over the hill in 20 minutes walking or by taxi boat. Summer events like music performances and the feast of Saint Nikitas on 28th of May are making your stay more pleasant.
